Mac OS X 10.8, named Mountain Lion, contains a new security feature called Gatekeeper. This feature allows users to control what types of applications downloaded from the internet are allowed to run on the target machine. The three categories are applications downloaded from:
· The Mac App Store
· The Mac App Store and identified developers
· Anywhere
By default, this setting is set to allow applications downloaded from, “The Mac App Store and identified deverlopers”. This article describes how to sign an installer so that it will be recognized as produced by an identified developer.
